OSU was the better team on Saturday. Over the course of the Big Ten season, Michigan and Iowa proved to be the best with a single conference loss each. Henne's an excellent "true" freshman quarterback. Regardless of the loss, it's a good thing for the kid to play in a game with the extra hype.

I can't say I like the way they backed into the Rose Bowl, but they'll be playing on New Years Day. Go Blue. I think the Big Ten as a whole is a weak conference. Outside of 1997 and 2002, there are no dominating teams. Hopefully we're respectable as a conference come bowl time.

Now we get to see what happens with the Clarett ordeal. Although, I have no respect for that young man.

Actually I thought tOSU was pretty good in 2003 too. They won back to back BCS bowls. In 98 they won a BCS bowl & finished ranked #2. In 96, they also finished ranked#2 after winning the Rose. I think top to bottom the big ten is a good conference. The most physical no doubt. It's hard for the Big 10 in bowl games because the travel, where the SEC & Pac10 doesn't have too so much. Also like last year the Big 10 sent two teams to a BCS bowl (scUM & tOSU). By doing that every other team moves up. What have is the 4th place Big 10 team playing like the 2nd place SEC team. With Spurrier headed to SC, I think the SEC might be the toughest now.
I love Llyod Carr! I hope he stay up there forever. Even though John Cooper sucked, both previous coaches had winning records against scUM. Beating up on MI is nothing new. It's fun to go to work this week, no MI fans have much to say now[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img] Though I really can't say OZ said anything, not like others I know.
All they ever want to talk about is John Cooper or games that took place before the Industrial Revolution.

First, this Michigan fan has respect for blOS-U. As of the past four years, blOS-U has done a good job against our Maize&Blue. I would question getting used to winning vs. Michigan? Looking back as far as you'd like (even before the so-called industrial revolution), I don't see any reason to get used to anything. blOS-U might want to focus on beating teams like Wisconsin, before looking ahead to the Michigan game. I suppose I don't understand the rivalry from the blOS-U side. Growing up as a native metro-Detroiter, I've had many other teams to root for. (Go Wings! Right, no hockey).

Prior to this season starting, I've been fed up with coach Carr. I'm not calling for his head, but wouldn't mind seeing him replaced in the next couple of years. I think the team's talent won't be exploited until he's gone. Just my .02. Regarding Carr blaming the loss on the security is like saying that blOS-U four Big Ten losses are due to the Clarett BS. Here's Carr's statement.

"What really is interesting is that they would say that with all these other schools, it's been the same all year long, when it hasn't," Carr said. "There is an issue of credibility here." "Let me make this clear -- it had nothing to do with the outcome of that game," Carr said. "Nothing. That is not anything we're using as an excuse. We're talking about how a university in this conference, how their athletic department, chose to try to embarrass us, I guess. I resented it. I just don't understand anything about what happened there."

We'll see how this team responds with our two true freshman running the team in Pasadena. Regardless, I'm pulling for each Big Ten team to post a victory. I guess I don't have that Avalanche hate in me like I did for Claude Lemeiux.

Enjoy the victory until next November. Then we'll be at it again. Anything can happen in these games because it doesn't matter which team comes in ranked ahead of one another.

 

OZ, if you did a little research and read my profile you would learn that i was born and raised in ohio... that equals 100%buckeye fan who knows about michigan. i live in virginia while serving active duty in the navy. you know....... the boats with big guns. that should make it a little more clear for ya. so actually you dont know me from that hole in michigan.

 

All I know is dUMB fans just want to talk about Cooper & games from 1900. No-one mentions the fact the Woody & Earl both had winning records against MI begining in 1951. You'd think everyone faired as well as Cooper from what I hear & see.
Yeah Whisky is a problem but how many games does UM throw away every year? ND this year, Oregon last year. It would be nice just once if UM could run the table so we could meet undefeated (like in '73) at the end of the year.

As far as Carr here is a quote on if they made them open the bags:
