Default Clutches SUCK !

I had gone to kentucky last month to pick up my HPR Gensis DS. I got it home and before I had even ridden it other than trying it out up there decided to put my new swingarm. That took me a month due to manufacturing probs with the arm...but that would take me all night. I finally got it rideable last friday night fired right up, took it for a little warm up session. Got on it in first stood straight up,backed out. Smacked the throttle in second the front lifted(+6" arm)pulled hard through 3rd went to 4th it started slipping, the clutch wouldnt hold it. Took it easy on it and tried it again....same problem. I did this when I first got it brand new less than 5hrs ride time and installed the carb, intake, and end cap from HPR. I put in 60% over RW springs and it did fine for a while now I guess its time for the 9disk set up. Oh well.....

I'm suprised Eric didn't recommend the 9 disk clutch from the start. One of the first things he told me when I got the bike was that as soon as I started beefing it up the clutch would start slipping. Sorry about your clutch, but it's nice to know he was right and now I'm not in the same boat - lol

A light sanding on the metal plates, plus, like sandman said, new fibers and 60% will hold most 70hp motors.

JD,
What type of oil are you running?

Have you had a chance to dyno that HPR setup?

I'm running the Barnett clutch with the Bombardier synthetic oil at $13 a qt. It has NEVER EVER slipped for almost two years now.

$13/qt - Ouch! Did you know that you can get some of the top synthetics on the market for about half that (Amsoil, Mobile 1, RedLine, etc)
