Has anyone out there chromed there stock exhaust pipe, or powder coated it. If so please let me know how it turned out or if your having any long term finish problems.

I had mine ceramic coated. Check out my pics. Anything with that much heat will discolor with time, mine has but still looks good. I had a place called Process Coatings do mine. (www.processcoatings.com) or you might want to try Jet hot.

ceramic coating is the only way to go, it holds up to almost anything. chrome just turns blue and polished also turns color. jet-hot is a good source or just check around you'r area. tough as nails for exhaust.

I chromed the pipe but only from the mid pipe back, at that point its not too hot and doesn't discolor. It has held up great. Head pipes are a different story, HPC coatings look great and are tough and don't discolor and have a polished aluminium look.

I have a Ceramic coated Stock Head pipe/heat-shield and muffler. It looks like chome when polished!

I may sell it if anyone is interested.

Just last week i powder coated mine black. So far so good I haven't had it on a long run yet. The coating is suppose to hold up to 1200 degrees and then i polished the ds shield and it looks great
