For you guys that live in NorCal there is a racing series that goes on over at Prairie City SVRA.
It is put on by Vorra racing http://www.vorra.com/

I know a few guys that race 450r's out there but I only saw one DS race a couple of weeks ago. I really think DS's can hold their own on this track. It is a wide open, fast and long track that they use to race buggies and stadium trucks on. The race series also consists of several desert races out of Yerington NV. The next race is this Saturday 16th at Prairie City if anyone wants to check it out. The last race of this season is the 30th of October. It would be nice to see some more DS's out there representing.

I was going to race out there a while ago until I found out how expensive it was. Between membership and race entry it was going to be around $100+. I think I'll race elsewhere until they lower their fees.

I thought the same thing when I saw the prices however I don't know of any other race series in the area to compare to.

I believe its $55 for the 1yr membership and $50 the day of the race. Somewhere around $35 sounds more reasonable if you aske me. I guess they just need to get more sponsors on board to make it a little more affordable for the average joe.
