I am trying to find a source for high octane gas before I decide on what compression piston setup to go with. Is low lead 100 octane even compatible with the rotax engine? The airport that I work only has LL100 and jet A50. I doubt anyone uses A50.

I have looked about everywhere and only seem to be able to find 104, 110 114 on the web.

I am in the Kansas City area, if anyone knows where to find the gas some of you are useing I would appreciate a reply.

Aviation fuel is combatible fuel for any motor as long as you jet it right and have the compression to burn it properly I have run it in my banshee and have friends who run it in their bikes from LT 500 to raptors and have had no problems also Jerry Hall from Halls Precision Racing in arizona has done extensive work on his dyno for years using aviation fuel he pretty much told me I was stupid for spending the money for race gas. Just make sure your compression ratio on your piston is combatible with 100 octane fuel.

You'll be fine on av 100LL you might want to run some top end lube as it is a very dry fuel. STAY AWAY!!!! from jet a 50 that's a highly refined form of diesel. with an anti gel additive added. if you have a diesel truck 5 to 10 gallons mixed in a tank of diesel will make your truck start a lot better when it's cold

If you decide you need racing fuel

racing fuel distributors for KS and MO give them a call and they should be able to tell you a local dealer.

I've run Av Gas for the past 12 years in 5 Banshees, 1 Honda Pilot, 3 Cr500s, 2 KX500s, 1 KTM550, 1 Kawasaki Mule, 1 VW turbo rail, and I'm planning on running AV gas in my fuel injected turbo DS650. (oh yeah, I've ran Av gas in my Honda 1000 generator too, and it kills weeds very well.)

I have never had a problem with any of those motors that could be attributed to the fuel. Proper jetting and oil/fuel mixture is important with any fuel used, along with routine maintainance. All the people I ride with use Av gas and have not reported problems.

The sad part is the Av gas has recently gone up to $2.75 a gallon at my local airport. But at least it has a much longer storage life then regular gas.

LOL dang you sound like us..................running it in whatever needs gas hehehe, we've run it in ALL of our quads(YES generator too LOL) also & had NO problems w/ it!! Last time we tore our blaster down to do the piston it was VERY clean in the motor & hter wasn't much build up on the piston either we were happy w/ that.

Oh heck 2.75gl THATS CHEAP I think we are paying 3/29 now but it IS cheaper than VP or anything else

Digging up the old posts here.........So lets say you have a DS and have gone from the stock piston to a 12.5:1 piston. Deffinatly compatible with 100 octane fuel. What jetting steps would need to take place for running the AV gas? Ohh and lets say you were running good ol super unleaded or maybe even 100 octane race gas.
