Noise on DS
#3
Bro, I just posted a simular post about a week ago. I just bought a '05 Viper and have had simular sounds out of my bike. I still cannot pinpoint the whereabouts. It kinda sounds like the motor and does it when you loug the motor in a medium gear. Once the bike gets to speed, you cannot her it anymore. Is that the symptoms of your bike? I have had my bike for about a month and the sound is not as loud as it use to be, but it still concerns me. I am going to mention it to my dealer when I take it in for my 20 hr. Let me know if what you are hearing is simular.

There is a similar sound on mine too, i,ve found it to be the chain guard on the lower part of the swingarm. Where the chain comes through it. I think when the motor is lugging, it makes the chain bounce. But when you give it some throttle, it goes away. I'm just thinking my pipe needs to be louder? Mine did the same It was the chain ratteling when the rpm was low as there is a flat part of the power band down there, it was a lot better after i fitted the end cap as the power spread went right through where the flat bit used to be.
By the way when my bike came from the dealer the chain was to tight on it and with the suspension compressed
there was no play on it at all. I was fortunate enough to check it before i rode. Worth a look
