Default Ds headlight bulbs

First of all "Do Not Buy The Xenon Light Bulbs Off Of Ebay". I just purchased a pair and they look like they belong in a mack truck. Contacted the seller and he had no clue, even though he listed them on the Bombardier Ds 650 site! Well anyway now that Im done bitchin, does anyone know where I can find the blue tinted bulbs for my ds? My lights are a little dim, and I was hoping to buy some Xenon's and brighten it up a little bit. Let me know if you can help me find them.

First off, what year DS do you have? Those bulbs you got off ebay are probably H4, they fit the DS up to 2004. After 2004 they went to a different headlight that uses H6M bulbs. Piaa makes a xenon version and rickystator carries some too.

Guys,
I would stay away from those cheap blue bulbs they sell on ebay. A lot of them that they claim to be Xenon are simply halogens with a blue film coated on the glass. They will actually put out less light than a standard halogen of the same wattage. If you want to increase you light output I would suggest going with a set of PIAA replacement bulbs. They are a bit pricey but you will notice the difference.

As Sandaholic has stated.
Pre 2004 - H4 bulb
2004-2005 - H6M bulb

The H6M is a rare bulb and somewhat hard to find. Do a google search on "PIAA H6M" and you will find several Yamaha dealers that sell this bulb. Yamaha uses this bulb on several of their ATV's.

Also when you go to install the bulbs be careful not to touch the glass with your bare fingers. THe oils on your fingers will cause the bulbs to blow out prematurely. Use a pair of latex gloves or a lint free towel.

Let us know how it turns out.

WOW, I looked up the H-6 bulbs and they are $85 bucks. I think that I will just live with what I got.

I have found the PIAA for $35 each, you need two of them.

I got the Xenon H6M from Ricky Stator , they are only $9 each

How is the light output on the Ricky Stator bulb compared to stock? How have they been holding up?
