sounds like it is running lean check your fuel is good and that your jets in your carb are clean, no bits of crap partialy blocking them.
i take it you havent just done any mods that might cause a problem. Also i wouldnt ride until you get it sorted as if its real lean you could hole the piston

ds is stock. I have had some heat issues in the past. Blew a hose and am scarred for life. How to go about adjusting ta make it a little richer? do you have a file for the bombardier repair manual? Thanks.

Im not saying your bike is jetted lean, as if it was ok before and just does it since it sat for a couple of months, somyhing must have changed in that time probably the fuel , unleaded fuel goes off after a while and can form a sort of sticky varnish that can block things up.
So take the four screws out of thebottom of the carb and you will see a brass tube with a hole in it use a flat head screw driver bit that fits up inside and unscrew the small screw with the hole in it that comes out is your main jet. If it is the stock jet it will be a 165 # stamped on the head.
check its clean you wil also se another smaller jet that one is your pilot, which controls the fuel at idle it is more prone to blocking as it has a smaller hole in it and no needle to keep it clear.
if you remove the gold top of the carb you will be able to remove the slide which will have the needle in it which can be adjusted also but i wouldnt go down that road until you get everything spotless clean.
PM me with your e mail adress and i will send you a diagram explaining how the differant parts of a carb afect tuning

Also I am assuming that you put fresh fuel in the bike after it had sat for months ??
If not try that before stripping the carb.
And the carb screws are a real pain to come out it would be worth getting some replacment allan bolts before you start, cant remember what sizes but some one on here posted them before

Yes I had put fresh gas in it. all fluids are good. I think I may had flooded the engine a little before it started. Could this have caused it? You guys are a great help.

you said it was hard starting. was the choke out all the way when it was glowing. my head pipe will glow red when I start it and warm it with the choke out. the color cools after I push the choke in. a quick way to check your jetting is to check your spark plug. your want a coffee with cream color. if it white its lean and hot. if its black and wet looking its rich and getting to much fuel.

Yes it is possible that i had the choke on when it started. It was nearly dark out when I was starrting it. I will check spark plug in a few minutes. So I've also got an issue with my fan. Doesn't come on. I need it though cause there are some tight trails right by my house. Also I heard there was a fan fuse?
