Default Now what?

My TVI 720 started leaking past the head gasket into the cooling system. I put in a new copper gasket with sealer both sides. One weekend and again it is pushing coolant out the overflow by the buckets. I flat edged the head when it was off the cylinder and it measured less than .001 at the worst spot. Now what? Any body have any suggestions on what I should look for now? I will be pulling the engine apart again this week. I would also like to find all the engine spec's as in deck height, combustion chamber volume, timing chain stretch spec's, etc.. I have a shop manual but it does not go into enough detail. Any help would be appreciated.

3 part steel/alum/steel head gasket sealed with plyobond. got mine from pami in germany but i think it's available in us now. I had head gasket problems and this is the only thing that worked on my 760, same thing with the coolant pushing out the over flow tank. i also noticed that scoobie with the turbo ds runs this gasket and sealer w/tons of boost.

Cardiac, Exacly what Jeffroe said, We tried everything too and the tripple metal head gasket w/ "copper" o-ring and plyobond has been the best for us. My bike lasted another weekend and only spit out a tiny bit out of the overflow after long nos runs in a row on the second day (it didnt leak till 4th bottle) . I think the plyobond can reseal itself, But I might be wrong. Mine still wont leak on all motor with this gasket. I think this may fix the prob for ya.

Thanks for the post. Next dumb question is; where do I get the Cometic gasket and is plyobond a brand name that I could find locally?

MY 'Banshee' sons watched your latest video and were really impresssed!

Do you know who I can contact to get deck height, cam degree and other engine info? This engine that Tony put together has had stuff taken off the head and cylinder, I just don't know how much and if I could get all the spec's, I could measure it all out and blueprint it in when it goes back together.

Sorry I left you out of the above reply. Thank you for the information. I did a google and found Cometic, the gasket is on the way. I should be able to find the sealant at the local speed center. I would still like to find the engine spec's somewhere. I will try Bombardier directly. I doubt any of the engine builders will want to share the information.

Thanks again guys!

Thanks Cardiac. If I were you I would send it to the preacher And let him do his thing with the entire motor. I lost his # on one of my old cell phones. If anyone knows his # can you give it to Cardiac please. I will look to see if I have it in a stack of papers. He might recomend some extra things for your motor, But mine has held up well and his prices are very reasonable.

Hey, are you talking about Pilobond contact cement? Does the head ever come off after using it?LOL. I called several engine builders and speed shops here in town and they didn't know what I was talking about. I did a google and came up with Pylobond in message boards but not a company or source. I went to the local hardware store and they have Pilobond contact cement. Is this what I should use?

If I was smart or rich or both, I would send the motor to Preacher. It turns out I am a cynical old mechanic whoo has always tinkered with performance stuff. Right or wrong, I like to do it myself. I still would like to get his contact number in case I really screw it up.....
By the way, we are all going to Glamis for Thansgiving. Is there a chance you might be there?

Majorecho Thanks for the post. It is Pliobond. BTW; RWR $7.50 for 3 oz. bottle. Ace hardware, same bottle $4.30. I should have the gasket by the end of the week and maybe running by next week. If it holds I will be looking for an alcohol setup, either a TM48 or a Lectron 46. I assume I will need a pingle valve and a fuel pump also. Any suggestions.
