Default Intake question

I am running the stock carb with a homebuilt (adaptor for vacuum slide) carb mount filter setup. I have read that the motor runs better with the snorkel (no airbox) and larger K&N filter. I did this and my bike seems to have lost a step. The jetting has not changed, Dynojet 3rd position w/180 main @ sea level. Could it be leaned out a bit? Any help is appreciated, Thanks.

Did you reconnect the OEM vacume slide hose to the intake tube. Or are you still using the home made version. Thas the only thing that comes to mind that may not be like what the other that use this combo have.

When you say it seems to have lost a step..I asume you mean at WOT. If it was me i would do some plug checks to see how your jetting is. Anytime you mess with the intake side you stand a chance of needed to offset it with a fuel dilivery change to compensate.
