im interested in running this combo.are any of you running it?i dont really know much about it myself.need info on mixing and percentage.i heard 20 nitro/80 meth.does that sound right.how much does nitro cost?

 

Nitromethane is about $35-$50 a gallon depending on the percentage (85% - 100%). Check out klotz fuels website, they have some good info. Gas versus methanol, plan on about 2.8 time more for a good mixture. Pure nitro is in the area of 7 times the amount of what gas would be! Nitromethane can make great HP but your messing with volatile stuff! Too much and your bending rods and lifting heads, not enough and it will torch everything! Your already running methanol so adding some nitro will be easy, just go puking rich on your jetting, an EGT guage will be your best friend when tuning. Some of the other guys that use an EGT guage can probably give you an idea as to how hot is TOO hot.

make sure u clean it out when your done, it eats the aluminum. used to run it in a gokart a million years ago.

 

thanks guys.wow...i didnt know it cost that much a gallon! i use klotz BeNOl racing Castor Oil for my 250r.it mixes good with the alcohol to.ill be glad when my back and seperated shoulder gets better so i can ride the r again!i can ride the ds,but the r is a hand full! it threw me down and spanked me good this time!!ouch!
