i take it you have the baja wheels? if you do the paint stripper will not work. i used some very bad stuff on mine did not work at all. you know when you spray it on and it mists on your hand and it burns bad!!! so i just used a grinder to take paint off then sand paper. long long process!!! no pics

Thanks for the replys
They are not the baja wheels just the plain ds650 ones.

I do not have the option of chrome effect powded coat Know one does it over here, well not a price it wouldent be cheaper to buy new wheels any way, but i have seen photos of it elswhere and it looks good.

the stripper i have is for removing yacht varnish and laquer if that dont shift it it must be some sort of plastic powder coat, I already have a set of douglass rears so it might be less hassel just to get some fronts.

Any other pinions ?

I would just buy some new rims. They are not very expensive.

I polished my stock wheels. Took for ever to strip the 3 coats of paint bombardier uses on them. First you strip a clear coat, then you strip the fake chrome looking coat, then a dark grey primer. For all the time it took I would have rather went out and bought a set of new Douglases...Yes it took that long. I can post a pic if you like?

I used Mothers Alum. Polish it works awsome. look at my picks the one that says DS slamed has my front rims just polished w/ mothers. remind you these are the stock 2000 rims. a little work but well worth it. if you use mothers polish keep the cloth fresh as possiable. keep turning it cuz the cloth will get black.
