Default Whats this????????????????

I recently installed a motor in my DS after some upgrades. I have a coolant leak and cant stop it. There is a hole on the bottom of the water pump cover and its leaking. Its on all 3 of my 650s. What is it for and anyone know how to make it stop leaking. Thanks

Looks like it's time to rebuild the water pump. Bad seal most likely.

I suggest getting the parts from BMW. They have a kit and the impeller comes attached to the shaft (confirm this with their parts guy. That's my understanding.).

The water pump has two seals, one on the oil side (engine side) and the other on the water pump side. The weep hole is an open area between the two seals.

You WILL want to replace the shaft along with the seals and the impeller (getting it off the old shaft can be a tough task - better off buying a new one.)

I can't think of anything else you will need.

Easiest to tilt the quad over on it's side to do the work. You will need to remove the clutch cover if I remember right.

Check the faq.f650.com site for more information and BMW part numbers.
