there are lots of plans available for different types of trailers. I have a few different ones. a couple that I have designed. but the ones I have designed are for three quads. you could easily modify to make them for 2. I also have made a single quad tilt bed trailer. I like it because you dont need ramps. I am curantly designing a two place that will load from the back. it will have 10" channel for the tires to fit in. and no deck. I want to make it so it is as low to the ground as possible. it should trail better and have a short hinged tail gate for loading. you can easily design your own trailer. just remember when placing your axle location. you want 10 to 15 percent of the trailer weight on the tongue. this is probably the hardest part to figure out. heres one. and northern tool has a bunch of different plans too. and ebay has a plans for sale too.
bings Idea is good. thats how I designed my first one. just measure how much trailer is in front of the axle. and how much is in back. then you can caculate a percentage from that. and use that to determine where to place your axle.

I have one of that same demension. the axle has brakes. and its a #3500lb axle. that works well for two or three quads. main frame is 2x3 .120 wall tube. or 1/8" wall. then use 1/8" angle for the cross members to screw your deck to. if you are useing wood. if you make the main side rails long enough. you can just bird mouth notch the rails. then bend them in to make the a-frame part of the tongue. with angle cuts to match with the tongue. this will give you a very clean frame on the outside. know what I mean?

if you looking for an idea of side load quad trailers, check out the zieman F-812 SL.
I've had one for about 3 years now and love it.
it can load from either side or the rear and comes with four ramps that stow under the bed of the trailer.
