Thanks Choose - I like the snorkle idea - interesting. We've got some water around here, but I gotta say that I'm cautious when it comes to creeks. They can look a lot shallower than they are!

We also do ride with hip boots most of the time to do a proper check of water depth. Myself I am still new at this game, so I do all water crossings with caution. I am glad at least John Deere will get these amazing machines for another year or two. Even though my machine (500 5 speed max) is still pretty new, I am planning to order a few extra parts while parts are easy to get, such as the rubber hold downs for the front storage and perhaps a set of the black fender edges for the front and rear unless anyone can tell me how to make them last......or do they just not break??? Also what are you folks using for winches and how do you like or dislike them? I am thinking of the front/rear relocatible system that BRP has, but am also toying with the thougt of making my own mounts and saving a bit of $.

Maxter - I'm using a 2500 lb Warn winch and it's great. Use it often to clear trees off trails and drag logs out of the woods. During the winter it hoists and lowers my snow plow (North Idaho winters and snow plows are a great fit!). Made it through the winter and summer and never missed a beat.

I have mud flaps on my front fenders but they seem to get eaten up in the rough stuff I'm constantly in. I think the heads up on stocking a few parts is a good idea. I'm guessing that John Deere will be selling Traxters for a while? Meanwhile, I agree with you - these are amazing machines!
