For those of you that attended DS DAYS 2004 you might recall meeting Herb and racing his Turbo raptor- here are some high lights of the winning bike in the open class event.

Looks like the turbo rider needs to adjust his clutch, his bike keeps rolling forward before launch.
I've seen alot of guys with those misadjusted clutches

Majorecho, thanks for posting the video! It gives us guys in the middle of the country a chance to see what else is out there beside these cow pastures we ride in.

Roll and go is hard to master, too much and people get ticked off and claim you jumped them. It's good for about half a bike length. I didn't say the Raptor wasn't fast, just that every little bit helps. It just wouldn't fly in a legitimate race, that's what the staging system is for.
When we race at dunes, there is no flagger, it's amazing the little tricks people come with. There's a guy on a Canondale who will look at you and nod at the same time he pops the clutch without looking forward. If you get a legit jump on him he pulls off and won't race. Everybody has there thing, it's like playing poker.

Mystereid if you are talking about a guy on a cannondale that races at florence i have experienced the same thing from him.I am trying to learn to not get suckered into these situations but fortunately i now have enough power to make up for most of them.

That was great seeing one of Kelly's quads win. Teaches others not to let children ride in a mans race!!
Ours blew two clutches prior to the race (the trubo/noz one kelly built). Hopefully the clutch will be taken care of soon.

duneittilludie, that's the guy, the first couple times he does that to you it's like what the he!!? I can't reel him in if he gets a jump like that, comp is such a short hill and his bike really goes pretty good for a Dale. Btw, if you had your 690 done by that guy in Jefferson, I think I raced you right after you had it done.
