make it pull
Ok im new to the ds area here i just bought a 2003 ds baja this thing rocks it rides like a cadilac, and it is huge whitch is great. But all i ever here is how fast these things are and i find mine slow since my other quad that im used to is a quadzilla, so my question is how can i make this thing faster, i want it to pull harder, i dont want to spend more than i have to and i refuse to lose any reliability. it is all stock, what is the best parts to get?

Spend no more than you have to? Speed, power acceleration cost money ($$$)...how fast do you want to go! I said the same thing, now a couple thousand dollars down the road, I just about got it where I need to be...but, with all that said, I would add a 14 or 15 tooth sprocket to the list stated above they're not that expensive...I hope this helps!

what jmac said, also you might want to think about a carb if you want to spend a bit more, i just did mine a bit a a time seemed less painfull on the pocket that way, getting rid of that restrictive end cap on the stock can is the best mod you will make for the money.
But watch out for noise and spark issues, if they affect your ride area ?
what kind of riding do you do?

i ride mostly trails, i ride aggressivily, i just want it to compare to my quadzilla, i am very aware that speed = $ , I'v been doing this for a long time, I just dropped about 2grand in my zilla rebuilding the whole thing, motor and all bearings, just looking for the easy thing to bet some power im new to the 4 stroke thing.

that is where i got my stuff from and i am more than happy with it the carb pulls hard and fast but if you are used to a zilla it wil be no problem for you trail riding, there are other options such as ron woods kits that use the tm 45 and there are a lot of guys happy with them too and some say that they are better suited to trail riding, but i trail ride everything from technical stuff to flat out blasts and dunes with no problem.

like was said the end cap and jetting is a big boost for very little cash and the manifold makes a differance on its own but not as noticible as the cap, but the carb made a big differance once fitted and has a good spread of power right through, a lot of guys fit performance cdi units to get extra revs I havnt gone this root yet and dont feel the need for it for trails , and the dunes i ride are real steep but not that high so i dont need it for there.
there is some good info on set up for the suspension on one of those links and its worth taking the time to do it.
