Default Lectron not taking fuel

I started up the DS last night and she died after about 10 seconds. I looked down and noticed the float bowl was about empty. Checked my fuel valve and it was set to ON. I then pulled the fuel line from the carb and verified that it is getting fuel. What would cause the float bowl to not fill?

I have had similar problems lately, My bowl only looks 3/4 full of fuel, And sometimes it floods out and dumps fuel out of the overflow vents. I ran through some whoops wide open and "I think" I knocked it loose (whatever the prob was)... It has not been acting up but ive only rode it for a day after the problems started. I dont know what it could be. I asked mr hp on another thread what it could be and he said either the needle was in crooked (which it wasnt) or the power jet was clogged (which it wasnt) other than that I got no other ideas/input or response as to what could be the flow problem... If I find out I will let ya know, keep me posted.

The carb is defintaly not starving for fuel. I pulled the fuel line to verify. My vent hose is directly on my gas cap so no pinching. I even blew into the vent hose to pressurize the tank and the float bowl would still not take a drop of fuel.

i had the same problem three weeks ago. pulled the carb completly apart. found that the brass screw, inside the float blow has a little needle in it. The needle seemed to be clogged up around it. after cleaning it out. carb worked like new.

my lectron did the same thing every once in a while. no pinched vent. I could usually tap the bowl with my finger and watch it fill up. no crooked needle or clogged power jet. I noticed when it did this. the float is so close to the side of the bowl the gas apears to be up higher than it really is. allmost like it was sucked up against the side of the bowl. could that be holding it up and closed? carb not pefectly level?

Right on 1BigDSrider!!! Now we are getting somewhere, Busamechanic may be on to something too. Now we can fix the prob!!

1BigDS- Where is screw with the needle in the float boal? I may have not seen it lat time I had it apart. Thanks a million for the responses. Ive been stumped about these probs. Also, What were your symptoms when riding the bike while this needle was clogged?

When you pull the clear plastic bowl off, directly in the center is a brass nut underneath the ushaped flapper. If you look directly in the center of the brass nut theres a small needle, (its what i call it). I blew through the whole where the fuel enters from the fuel line and noticed that no air was being released through the needle area. after some continual trying it blew out what was clogging it. Has worked fine since.

Please no jokes about the blowing thing.

Didnt notice any symptoms other than the bike died after only a few minutes of running, and no fuel was entering the float bowl. I think it might have been some type of vapor lock, or just from the fuel being left setting for a few days. Im no mechanic but it solved my problem.

Thanks Big,
I'm going to pull the cover off tonight and see whats going on.
I don't think my problem is the same as what Bus describes. The bowl is completly dry and the floats are sitting on the bottom.
