I have a 95lb 10 year old that handles it well in the dunes, he's been on bikes since he was 3- just use good judgement and don't get crazy.

general rule of thumb dictates that you shouldn't

if..........you have a good head on your shoulders

if............you are aware of your surroundings

if............(i feel like the phantom!!!) you know that you will rarely ever have to give it full throttle until you are absolutely ready

if...........you have responsible adult supervision.

Then I say go for it...BUT respect the power that is underneath you. lack of respect will get you, and others hurt real fast.

just my .02

yeah i got my DS when i was 14. I was about the same spec as you. Its so comfortable, whenever i ride other bikes they just feels like a toys. But yeah its nothin to be scared of, i mean stay in 1st gear and thatll take u up to about 15 mph. I hate 1st gear!! Off Topic, but does anyone EVER use 1st when riding?
