Well, the DS needs some wings and a much better suspension! I was on my new 2005 DS 650X, with only a couple of mods, less than ten hours on it.

I hit a good jump at my buddy's ranch, went a little too high, not much distance. He said I would have cleared his Hummer had it been underneath. I was not real impressed with the suspension, upon impact, I broke my ankle, bent my axle and flattened my left rim. I didn't loose my footing, feet stayed on the pegs, the impact was horrific.

I'm looking for a Durablue axle, and a stock rear rim. Any ideas?

I'm thinking about selling it and getting a Rhino RTV. Check them out, they are killer, but expensive.

Well, Im very sorry to hear that you broke your ankle, but Im sorry to tell you that there is a limit at which no suspension will be "enough". Yeah, go get you a Rhino and try that jump again!

Look up the Rhino RTV before talking smack. It's not the Rhino your thinking of.

Like I said, go buy you a Rhino with 14" of travel and hit that same jump that broke your ankle on a DS with 12" of travel............

Ive checked it out man...Im not trying to talk smack here. But, Im just saying that I feel bad that you broke your ankle jumping the DS, which happens to have one of the best stock suspensions that you can buy on a bike. But, you come into the Bomb forum talking like the DS just dont have enough suspension....all Im saying is that there is a limit at which no suspension set-up will be enough suspension to soak up the impact of the land!

sorry to hear you found the limits of your Ds suspension so soon , i have ridden a lot of different atv`s and found the DS to have the most forgiving stock suspension i have ridden.

No bike likes to land straight down the less forward momentum you have the harder you will hit

hope you leg heals ok

Time for a Durablue axle. Also need a new rear wheel. Could have turned out better with 22" tires. Reminded me of when I was younger but taking longer to heal. My doctor was not happy to hear about it since I had (scheduled) minor back surgery this morning.

I've thought about it more and more, I cannot blame the bike, I landed hard and in more of an upright position, front end very high. I thinks thats why I broke my ankle.
