my dad is adjusting the valves on my friends ds 650, does anyone know what to set them at? its a 2001 by the way.

around 8 thou I believe.

Valve gap (lash) should be be between .004" and .006" or .1mm to .15mm.

Exhaust valve clearance.10 to.15 mm Intake clearance is what basicbaja said .004 to .006 . This is what is in the shop manuel.

Sorry about that. that info was out of a 2004 shop manual. I dont know if it would be the same for the 2001. I dont know what all diferences they made from year to year in the motor but my 05x will smoke my o3.

thanks guys

the ds is a really big quad i never really noticed until it was in my garage and i looked at it, it makes my raptor look like a toy

does anyone know where to find the part# 529 035 617, for adjusting the valves?
