Default almost bought one!

Well I am getting closer to the 650X, just couldnt pull the trigger. I went to one dealer who advertised the bike for 5600 + fees, but the OTD price was 7100.00 I said thats a hell of a lot of fees and he said no that it was normal. The next dealer was at 6700.00 I told him to get me that price with a set of sandstars front and rear. He said he couldnt do that. So I keep waiting and watching for the right deal.

I figured that with the extras the bike was running about 6400OTD if he threw in the paddles and smoothies.

^^ Hmm... I would be afraid of that deal, just because you never know how somebody that lies on credit apps treats their equipment.

When i got my 03 new (baja, obviously not the X) I paid 5700 shipped for it (bought it from a dealership in ohio through ebay)

The mounted sand stars would be about 400 total... so OTD would be about 6300.

I would start with 6400 OTD, and work from there. Dont let 100-200 bucks keep you from owning a ds!

The problem I have is that I dont need the bike, as my warrior runs just fine. But DAMN I want one, it is just so comfortable to sit on and looks better than anything else on the market right now. I hate the cookie cutter appearance that all the other bikes seem to come from. I was hoping that a real reliable source would leak out some info on a new bomb sport to drive down the prices on the 650 but no luck yet. Also the other part holding me up is that my riding season is all but over untill october. So buying one now and only getting one ride out of it will be a bummer. We will see how the prices move over the next couple of weeks.

Maybe....just maybe you would think of buying slightly used? They pop up on e-bay quite often. There are also allot of dealers who sell used this way you can have one and not spend quite as much money.....Just a thought.....

The only problem is bombs seem to hold their value pretty damn well. I can afford the bike no problem I just want the best deal I can. I have looked at the used market but man bombs come few and far between and most are 01 or 02 for 45-5500 and I would spend the extra for new

Dune Rat,

I think you might do yourself a favor to get some competition going between dealers of other brands such as Polaris. When I bought my DS two months ago I was also looking at the Predator. I got the best deal polaris would give and took it to the Bombardier dealer. When I got their i told the manager that I was going to buy a Quad that day and asked him which one he wanted it to be. He not only matched th price quote on the predator but beat it. The point is that I got my 05' DS for less than 6000 all included out the door. NOW, as for the rest of you guys " I NEED HELP". I am ready to start mods and don't know where to get the best bang for my buck.???????? CDI, Rectifier, slip on ECT. I do not want to be embarrased by any more souped up two strokes. HHHHEEEELLLLPPPPP!!!!!!!!
