hi,
i have the possibility of chroming my arms for free. i'd like to know if anybody done this(pics would be great!) and if not does anybody know if it is a good or bad idea. i think it is a good a idea, i saw a kind of tape made by 3m that you can put over the chrome to keep it from rocks, they put this tape on cars.
thanks!

just an fyi chroming makes parts weaker. nickle plating is ideal but more expensive. since its free i would go for it but if there dipping it to chrome it you are going to have to run a tap or die over all threads cuz the chrome will build up over them and any bolts wont fit. just get the right taps and dies and you'll be fine
id say go for it.

Both my uppers and lowers are chrome. The leading edge of both get sand blasted perty good though and it's very difficult to keep them chrome looking. But every once in a while I bring the shine back and they look sweet. Mine also were not free. Been awhile but I think it was around 700 bones.

had both upper and lower Aarms chromed on the busa no issues with the threads or weakness. i only ride it on the sand so not sure about how the chrome would hold up on a trail machine, but i know this for sure "the chicks dig chrome"
