Since I don't follow the sled scene, 1, how does that work, and 2, is it a pull starter system?

The Phantom...forgot his sign off...

My guess is you can get away with a very small, light weight battery.

I haven't been into sleds for the last 15 years. If my memory hasn't faded too much, the first pull would charge the fuel rail, the second pull starts the sled. I am guessing the stator might have enough output to otherwise operate the system once running. There's got to be more sled-heads in here that would know the system better than I.

I don't have time at the moment to check the Cat website for the details.

I believe it works on a capacitor system , the first pull charges a capacitor and the second pull fires the injectors . It does work quite well . Why is everyone worried about 5,10,or even 20 lbs , go on a diet and buy the efi quad .

it is actually a 250cc. I dont know why they call it SARASOTA 1000(probably its dry wieght)

bigger.
I was just trying to figure that out, closest number I see is the 800lb payload capacity. Weight is 653lbs dry. Massive 8hp engine with over 12 lb/ft of torque and top speed of 15mph.

like i said its not going to have aluminum frame, those where rumors and they are wrong, not going to have it.it had a electric start on it to start with but it was scrapped to save weight.remember this is a race quad not a trail quad.it might have a battery or not .this person that told me is in the inside and can say only so much.yes it might be like the selds or trial bikes some of them have efi and no battery.i wish they left the electric starter on to,but its gone.like i said believe what you will ,but i have the facts ....come aug lots of people are going to be surprised and the ones who want a race quad are going to be very happy with it

Gald to see that there is a lot of excitement about what BRP will release next. The dealers are usally the first to know what is coming, But BRP is very secretive on whats comming they only tell us when they are ready and want to. There are regional dealer meeting at which BRP releases their new line up of ATVs. Last year the meeting was on the 26th of June, but unlike the skidoo dealer meeting the date is always different, but it is usally in June. All that I know about what is to comeing has already been said. I've recently heard that Bombardier is trying to build the REV of the quad world and take the majority of the market share in the comming years. The current Blow-out promotion that BRP is currently running is to help dealers reduce stock, so the would be stuck with a bunch of non-current stock, or to have a small amount of stock if the new additions don't sell like they hoped. BRP has lots of technology but most of it is in the sleds or the sea-doos (RER, DESS, BUDS, MPEM, E-TEC, SDI),but they are putting it on the quads just not at the same amount. I would like to see DESS caps on the ATVs it is a nice feature, or even a teather cord for the DS.

I'll post any thing I hear, and when the dealer meeting will be held and what I was told when I will be there.

Maybe that Rotax v-990 will make it into a beefed up Outlander style of package....now that would definitely be a shock to the market!!!

The Phantom.....ponders the concept of a near 1000cc production atv....
