another stupid cam question
#1
Just got an 03 stage 2 Baja. It has an 11.5 woods piston and web 110 cams. My question is would I get a worthwhile power increase from switching to the web 109's or would I just move the same power up the RPM range? Thanks. HPR or woods cams aren't an option cause I'm on a very strict budget

I know Eric and Randall don't recommend either of the cams and I believe Ron Woods doesn't either.
However to answer you question; I think you answered it yourself.... "same power up the RPM range"
There are those here who are much more familiar with the slight differences between the 109 and 110's so I'm sure they will chime in soon.

Not surprised that Woods or HPR don't reccomend the webs as they don't sell them so why would they? Because the webs are a lot less expensive. But are they an inferior grind of cam by comparison? I don't know. Thats the great thing about the forums you can get the answers from people a lot more knowledgable than yourself

I went from stock to the 110's. In fact when I was a full stage 3. I ran the 110's with HPR's 14:1 piston.
I did perty good with that set up. But the others with 109's would get me every time. So when I went to the 105.5 bore and again with HPR's 14:1 piston I switched to the 109's. Can't compare them to a quad with similar mods only with someone elses cams though cause I haven't come across any yet.
But....You will be happy with the 109 grind web cams And save a perty good bit of money as well.
Another But.
If your real serious about drag racing though. You should prolly spend the money and have HPR set you up with a set.

I think they are around 150 (give or take) more. As far sa how much better? Dunno for sure. But if you look at MrHp's resume...I would say they "Get-r-Done"
