I may be wrong and someone please correct me if I am but I am pretty sure I have read a few past posts about the tach on our ds650's using the stator or the rectifier output to regulate the tachometer, do a search, that is why you have to buy onefrom bomb for 125.00 and not one from napa for 41.00, once again someone please correct me if I am wrong but I am 95% sure on this, let us know how it works out,

the tach gets it's signal from the coils as they fire, we have a wasted spark system so it fires every time the piston approaches TDC , if you pick up one from a different source it is mostly likely for a 4-6 or 8 cylinder engine and the signal will not be calibrated to give you an accurate rpm indicator. IT needs to be a tach specifically designed for a single cylinder/wasted spark system.

The other guy wants the tach as well, you can have first chance. as for other parts I have an air box, complete motor, wiring harness, baja fog lights, stock grab bar, complete ron woods pipe, that's all I can think of for now. Bajafred@***.net Later
