be careful of the water holes at the bottom of several big dunes. I was there Labor day weekend and a 15yr old kid died. From what I understand he came over a dune, going down the steep side, saw the water hole, panic, and flipped end over end killing himself. A similar situation happened the very next day but nobody died, just life flighted away.
We actually swam in one of the water holes at the bottom of a huge dune. it was between waist and chest deep! Many that are knee deep as well. Fun times, but be careful zipping over the top until you see what is on the other side (seems obvious, but obviously not obvious to all people, obviously).

Hmmm....I did hear that he was killed. But I didn't here that it was cause he paniced from the water. GOOD advice! I heard he was just not paying attention and flew over the dune. The bike went one way and he went the other. He landed on his rear end and drove his spine.....well you can guess, I'll spare the gorry details.
You actually swam in the water? Was it hot? Doesn't sound refreshing to me!!
