DS650 Tires and Wheels
#12
I've been using the .190 with the RAZR 2's and have had no problem. The rims before that were .190 too, but were with a different, and smaller, type of tire, and so the rims got bent up. Since I moved up to the 23 in front, and 22 in rear, with the RAZR 2, I haven't had any problem with rims bending, and I ride on nasty PA rocks too. The type of tire you choose can help protect your rims too.

you must not ride hard enough then bcause I ride a baja with reinforced rims an have bent them already. I have seen so many of me friends bend the beads on them no matter what tire they have on.

Again, alot depends on the tires too, not just the rims. RAZR 2's do a good job of protecting the rim. If you think my riding is easy, come on out to Tower City and see just how small the rocks are.

I know where tower city is just cant comprehend why someone would want to pay $200.00 to ride with 2500 other people I ride in the free spots up that way where the bigger hills are at. I live just below pottsville I know what the rocks look like I run about 15psi in the front rims so I do not pinch a tire. I geuss if i would slow down a little bit I
would not have all these rim problems
would not have all these rim problems

I use plain old ITP T9 wheels with Pure Sport Bandit XC tires. They seem to work well, and after a whole year of desert racing in the rocks, ... not one flat tire, and no bent wheels. There are a few large chunks torn out of the edge of wheels, but the wheels are still straight, and still hold air.
