Ok, question. If I call up at and say I want a plus 5 swing arm for my 05X. Is that a plus 5 over my stock swing arm, or a plus 5 over the older modle swingarms?

I think it would be 5' over your current swingarm. Give Chris a call to be sure. Hmmmm makes me wonder why you want one so long.

That depends on how long you go. If you go long enough, there could be a weight gain theoretically. Also it depends which year. My '05 DS like Dragon's has a cast alloy swingarm as opposed to the steel units of the early DS's. On my '05, I did not save much weight at all with my +4 ACE swinger. Had I installed it on a '00 model, I would have saved more weight.

Does that help?

My ace +6 was almost 23lbs lighter than the 01 stocker with everything on it.

Being one of the fatboys here, I have asked that same question. The big boys that have them have advised they are able to jump them and everything else and have no problems...

The reason for asking was that it seems to be wayyyyyy too much work to put a 04 swing arm on a 00, seems to alot easier to just go with an after market swingarm, getting ready to totally re vamp the DS this summer from the moter to the frame, It would be great to drop close to 50lbs off of the DS to handle better in the dunes, one thing I learned about the DS unlike other quads is that the quad is so big that it runs you instead of yourself running the quad like maneuvering in air and over the tops off dunes, what I ment from that statment is my 500LT is about 325/lbs and I can toss it around while riding and would like to lighten the DS to do the same.
