there is a specific mm adjustment but I think it was oldmanracing maybe that said when he had his carb of and turned upside down with the bowl of he had the tops of the floats level with the surface the bowl screws to if that makes sense, I would try the clear hose method first, if you pull your bowl you might have problems with the bowl screws, them damn things are tight,

Try running it down the road with the gas cap loose, and see if it does it. Thinking im a great mechanic i was changing a few things around and when i put it back together i pinched the vent line to the gas tank and mine would cut out but when you slow down the gas could keep up. Might be worth a try.

Hey Jack,
I think it is all beyond me at this point... time to pull out the wallet and pay to get it fixed.
I thank all of you for your help, very much appreciated!

You know, a bunch of years ago I bought a Harley Davidson and was riding with some old timers. I was thinking about making modifications and asked where a good bike mechanic was. The oldest of the guys walked up to me with his black leather vest and long beard and said " If you can't do your own wrenching you don't deserve to ride" Needless to say I do all my own wrenching.
My point is this, never be afraid to jump in and do your own work on your bike. It never hurts to have someone nearby who can advise but there is no excuse not to do it yourself. Even those who are the least mechanically inclined can work on these bikes.
Get a manual and go for it..... We are all here to help!

One other thing you might check is your air filter make sure that it didn't come loose some how. You do have your lid still on your box right? If not you could be getting to much air and that will mess with your mixture making it run to lean.

scoundral you forgot to tell him when he buys a manual buy another bike also, becouse when you cant get it back together you can tear the other one apart to see how it really goes back together.

scoundral is right when he said you need to jump right in there, i did not know what was in there at first but each time you work on your bike you go a little deeper and deeper. After a few times you will be able to actualy identify what your looking at instead of looking at the do hickey or thinga majig orwhatchacallit. just take your time and dont worry if you get stuck, there is enough people on here to get you back together
