What e terrible combination for a race track! Deep sand and Grass?
It wouldnt be worth ruining a good set of paddles for.

I know. They are using our track as it is the only one around. This is a test type race. If everything goes well and they get alot of response, they will do it again maybe with a atv track. Its not going to be a bad day of racing though, get to race atv's in morning, watching some of the fastest bikes in the world, then turn around and race sleds in the evening under lights!

I am running a similar bike with a 20 shot Boondockers. I dyno out at very close to 70 hp.I hit fourth about 50 feet from the finish. I have 16/46 gears with 9 paddle haulers My times on soft sand at 300 feet are 5.6's. Hope that helps. The transition from sand to grass is going to be hairy. Good luck.

Some 18 paddle Brats would probably work really well with the kind of horspower that you will be turning. If not, you could get the 18-paddle stager-cut that would work well for all motor passes on that type of terrain. Just my 2 cents.

Alright, I am going to run my wifes machine instead of mine. Mine is entirely set up for nitrous, and if I run nitrous they will put me in the open class with every open class entry. So I need advice on gearing. The race is tomorrow morning, my wifes quad has this stuff: !4-1comp, web 109's, ported head, tm45, k@n, drag pipe, vortex ignition. I am currently at 15-40. I want to be at the top of fourth at 500'. any guesses?

With 15/40 you will be turning 9000rpm at 77mph with 22" tires in 4th gear.
Depending on if you use a tire that grows, you may be able to run 20" tires.
If you are taking off in sand, you will be better off starting in 2nd gear and shifting 3 times , ending in 5th gear. If using 20" tires that does not grow, this would give you 78mph at 8500rpm.

Well, I got my **** kicked hard. My brother tiped over backwards the first run, wet sand with clay and paddles, way to much traction. We had to roll into the power in first then grab second, the race was over by then. The quads ran great but we didnt have any nobbies with us and everyone else had them or 4snows. To much traction on the sand and not enough on the grass, DAMN! Nest time we'll be better prepared. Thanks for all the hlep. By the way I did run 15-40 with 20" 8 paddles. To low for running the full track in third.
