I just picked up my new DS today. First all, I love the bike. Suspension is awesome. I was wandering what the stock rev limiter is suppose to be set at. Mine seems to be kicking in around 7000 to 7200. I thought it was suppose to be around 7500 to 8000. Just seems a little low to me. Thanks for any info.

 

Seems to me mine would hit the rev limiter around 7700 I have forgotten since I moved on to the Vortex.

 

7900 on the newer ds's

 

78-7900 is where I tap out. The Baja or X versions rev higher then the base DS but they are only selling the X model for 06.

 

I was wandering how accurate those rpm guages are on the 06 x model? Maybe my gauge is wrong. I swear mine is reading 7000 to 7200 rpms.

 

mines dead accurate 7900rpms on the tach....just like its supposed to be

 

No clue. Maybe they put the wrong limiter in your's? Who knows......I do know I definately go over 7200.

2003 and up ds's have the same rev limmiter.

 

She'll live longer the way she is.
