Not in this lifetime.
Waaaay too heavy. Even Modified 800 vs stock DS would get smoked. I say lets line them up and get on it. Would be fun to find out the truth.

It's closer than you might think. It's been done at a dealer I know. The 800 get's the whole shot and the DS goes on by. This is stock for stock. The DS wins by about three bikes in 300ft. If the DS messes up and gets a bad start , then it's bad news for it.

I've heard of plenty of guys running a 800 bomb with the 750cc brute and it was a close race....i seen the brute force at some dunes racing around on the beach and even tho the 800 is faster than the brute....would be no competition for the DS....maybe the first 60 feet or so goes to the 800 but i highly doubt it would be a competition....when all these new big bores come out you always hear how insanely fast they are then it turns out people start to see them for how fast they really are...

My dealer ran them and it was less than 2 bike lengths at this altitude.

you guys that dont think it would be close better think again. My dealer and his son, who is a professional sled racer took the two out and the DS would pull away from him a bit on the trails BUT never got more than 3 lengths or so ahead of the 800. YES it is that fast. Think about it, the Outlander 800 is 62HP stock and the DS has been dyno'd rather consistantly in the 42hp range. 20 HP makes up for ALOT of weight.

A few months ago I stated on this board that it would be close. I didn't do the math at the time but I knew it would be close. My money would be on a blue-printed drag Outtie over a DS in a short race. The race would go the way THEBOM stated.
Kind of like the WRX of quads!!!
