Default New DS 50 2 stroke

I am thinking of buying one of these. Are they any good? Hows the top speed and can the factory limitations be adjusted. Hows the power tourqe ect. Its for my 7 year old daughter and I want a good reliable machine. They look well built and have the same frame as the 90. Would this be a good winter machine? Any help would be appreciated

Thank!!

I have the DS 90 for my son and in two months had to get him something bigger. There an ok machine but I would definitely go with the 90. At 7 she will be fine. Later, D

Well I bought the 2005 DS 90 for my 9 year old son and he mastered it in about one month. I then did not want to go out and buy a bigger quad so I put about $800.00 out and did performance mods to the DS90. This made the DS90 run sweet. But my son still needed something bigger. I then came across a Blaster and bought that for my son not knowing how he would be with a clutch. Well he mastered that clutch thing in about one hour. Now he goes up hills some adults wont go up. He's 10 years old now. Its ashame you guys don't live near NJ because I'm selling his DS90 right now. I've got almost $3000 wrapped up into the Quad. Paid $2,150 for the quad from the dealer and then all the mods. The only thing that would happen once in a while is the chain would pop off when hitting large bumps. One of the mods I did was to add an aftermarket Hetrick chain tensioner. The chain never came off again. The bike I would say is a solid bike and I would buy one again if it came to it. If your kid is a boy and 8yrs or older I would definitely get him something bigger as I wish I would have this way you don't have to buy another one in a couple months when they outgrow it.
Hope this helps, D

Here is a link if you want to see the one I have for sale and the mods I did to it.

I think the top speed is around 15mph stock. And yes you can adjust the speed down to 1 mph if need be. There is a screw by the thumb throttle that you just turn in to adjust the throttle speed. Later, D
