need help with rev limiter
#1
I recently put one tooth smaller on the front sprocket and made an endcap I love the hp gain but now I am hitting the rev limiter in 2nd gear when I start at the bottom of hill climbs. what is the differance between a cdi computer that gives you 1000 extra rpms and a rev limeter elimanater. And will either effect my quads bottom end & besides over rev will they harm my quad. Iam looking at alba racing products.

some rev limiters will give you 1000 extra rpms, a rev eliminator is just that, it will not "cut out" when you over-rev your engine.
In my opinion, and many other may feel different, to use a rev eliminator is risky, you run the chance of damaging your engine.
Do a search on rev limiters, you will probaly find a weeks worth of reading in here and many opinions.
What I do not get is how can a YFZ's rev limit be over 10,000 rpm, when we have a stronger engine that is rev limited protected at 7800 rpm??
