Default Going to look (may buy) at an Outy 800XT

I have searched and read some of the reviews on this and other sites. But, I would like to know how they are holding up. I would also love to know what fuel economy folks are getting. My 700EFI is pretty good. But, people complain about the SP800. With the Outy having a larger fuel tank, I am hoping for decent results.

Any concerns? Anything really bad on this machine?

Front springs are very soft, dives while braking and turns.

You can read my review HERE

Thanks Sparks. I did read your review and it was helpful. As you can see by my signature, I did buy and XT and I love it.

You are absolutely correct about the front suspension. I have been playing with it a bit and it does work much better on the stiffer settings.

Did your 800 come with a sigle rate front spring or dual rate? BRP has a spring upgrade if you don't like the front end. It will be done under warrenty.

Wow GE...That's good news. How can you tell which spring set you have? Have you bought an 800 yet?

Picked mine up yesterday, but I bought the base and not the XT. If you look at you front springs and the spring looks like it's one piece from top to bottom, you have the single rate which is a single rate. If the spring looks like the rear springs then you have the dual rate. Mine is single, but my dealer thinks he can get the dual for me. Hopefully fast as this weekends race is comeing quick.

I got the yellow one, but dealer said he had some green coming next week. I'll try to get some pics tomorrow before I take the racks off.

GE i thought you must be nuts to go from KQ to sp800 to this. I forgot you live in the sane state of NH. If you pulled that in Maine you would be into $2000.00 in tax alone by now. This state stinks for tax. It's very frustrating if you decide to change brands. With the price drop and tax I paid i'd have to eat about 3 grand to get rid of my800. Can't wait to hear your review after a couple hundred miles. What did they give you for a warr.?

Having no sales tax is huge. I sold my sp800 for $7300 and the 6 month warrenty had allready expired. I bought the BRP for $8000 and got a free 5 year warrenty. My dealer also mounted my Bighorns and put and installed a tether for free for this weekends race. If you look at my link below I put a couple pics of it.
