i have an end cap with k&n filter and pre.. came with 175 main jet ...i havent installed the jet


can i run the cap and filter without changing the jet for a few wks, then i will change it...reason is the quad is at afriends house with no room or tools to work and i am in the middle of a move, want to ride and the cap and filter are on but didnt mess with carb yet cause i knew i was moving...

you will probably be a little lean, but you should be able to get away with it. If it seems to run hot, or dosnt run properly (bogging/backfiring through carb etc) I wouldnt run it. You dont really need much time/room to change the jets/needle. If you can spare 10 minutes I would pop the bowl cover off, swap the jets, then pull the gold cover from the top (only two screws) and raise the clip (lower the needle) probably one clip for now. Better to be safe than sorry!

 

it ran great today, no popping or anything...i guess i will leave it.
