DragonDJ11,
Interesting as I had read from several sites and mags that the RW rated in at about 105db + er - 1 or 2 db.
I just purchased the full RW exhaust for my 04DS and have not db tested it but then again I don't ride where they would ever care.
But over all I would still purchase the same pipe over again. It looks good, it flows the best (Mid to Top end) and sounds Great !!!.... where I ride most of the time 4k + RPM according all the research I did. I did not was a full on Drag pipe and everyone around you gets annoyed... in my opnion.
I am sure at some RPM on a completely stock bike its 96 - 98db but I think 105+ is more realistic in the upper RPM's with a load on the bike !
I saw on the On Dunes Perf site there is an end cap w/supertrapp disks type addaptor that will let you fine tune the pipe for better low end torque and yet let you decrease the db rating if you like. This adds about another 100.00 to the price of the pipe though.
I was thinking of getting one .... just in case if I ever needed it ?????

This is the problem with DB levels, you have to follow the standard for testing. I had the RWR pipe tested a few years ago by a ranger on the sand and it was 105. The pipe was new with fresh packing.

I was tested at Sand Lake in Oregon. They dont enforce the states DB rules, but they do test if you give them a reason to pull you over. In my case I was night riding and my tail light burned out. They just told me to fix my light and consider a quieter pipe someday.

You may be able to get the Ron Wood Racing pipe down to 100db-101db - maybe - if you had the Supertrapp tip on it with the right amount of discs. But I havent tested it.

Thank You Marky, that is what I was afraid of. I had heard 105 from other areas also. Don't really want to risk it up there on the coast. Looks like the best overall pipe for the DB issues is the LTE. Oh-well what is another $200 bucks between pipes

Also LivSD thanks for your thoughts. If all I did was run here in CA I would get it, but I love Riding in Florance way too much for that.

The CT is probably quieter. The other options have already been talked about.

Yep, I have been following the other threads in regards to the pipes. I just could not believe that they told me the dbs were that low. I wanted to be sure before I threw out money and then started getting tickets. RWR exhaust + one DB ticket = same cost as LTE......Plus you just got to love the looks of a duel ex.

DragonDJ11,

Thats a good way to put it. Plus dont forget the cops can get you for other things while they are at it - Just ask Glenn - To be honest with you, ever since Mod Quad and LTE got together and organized a ranger to test every single LTE exhaust pipe at DuneFest two years ago, when the rangers see duals, they dont even take a second look. Its a lot like Supertrapp discs, if they are checking for spark arrestors, they see you have disks, they dont even test. I suppose if they stop you for a missing flag & pole, they probably will test the exhaust. Better safe than sorry.

Yaaaaaaa

I almooooooooot bought the LTE's just because of the Dual Pipe looks but never could get solid facts from them as to how much of an improvement the dual pipes provided ? was it worth the extra 2 bills. I understand there's two of everything but come on .....?
They look sweet and sound pretty good. I raced a guy up TEST at Gordon's that had them on a KFX700 and it was a real nice setup. Though I think he had more than just exhaust MODS on that thing... pretty quick for belt drive !
I just wanted the most performance I could get just shy of a all out Drag pipe.
Let us know how the install and performance goes ....

Marky I saw his post on that. I thought that was pretty funny myself. (sorry Glenn)

LivSD I will let everyone know how it goes, but I am not going to have that cash flow until around March or April next year. Counting on a big return from IRS this time around. About time they give me some back
