Default bouncing off the rev limiter!

well i finally got my ds running---installed a new procom hi perfromance reg/rec(keep fingers crossed), new battery(sun),
end cap and K&n with prefilter..

first of all i didnt install the 175 jet but it seems to run great, no problems--- should i leave it?

my question is this...i am hitting the rev limiter real fast it feels like every gear in the pits and definetly while
we were dragging, i am not use to the new increase..its so quick

does not jetting have anything to do with this? and what will a ported intake do to this situation?

sounds like i need a CDI...higher rev, i just cant beleive how much of a difference the endcap and stuff made its like day and night

Great to see your back and running.
If you have the stock 165 mikuni, you are fine.
Stock cdi and endcap do not require major jetting.
You may want to raise your carb needle to the 5th/lowest from top of needle groove.
With endcap they hit strong in mid and you may want to richen that area up.

You can either change your plugs or pull out the outside plug and see what it looks like.
If the end of plug is dark(black) and the porcelan is still white or slightly tan - OK
If porcelan is getting dark brown all over - rich
If end of plug is clear and you see small metalic dustlike on porcelan - Lean

When you have some time read my post - Stock Carb Mods

You can either do what Viper said or try changing your gearing to compensate for that extra power that your experiencing. This will help out with bouncing off the CDI...or you could just shift the bike a little sooner. LOL!

If you do decide to purchase a different CDI, be sure to look in the, "What's in your garage" thread. I bought my RWR CDI from a member for $120.
