How hard are the dual 39's to tune and do they work well with alcohol? Thanks, John.

From what I understand, you almost need a dyno to keep them right. Especially on alky.

I done a search on it and they actually have a few guys who have had some luck with them. But, they have to be spot on to perform to the optimum potential.

If you want to run alky I'ld go directly to KMS. Their EFI system is perfect for that application.

The dual FCR's are AWESOME! I'ld plan on getting on the dyno with any carb you get. I need to get my bikes on the dyno (all of them - even those without FCR's).

If you do run alky in your carbs, be sure to drain them when you get home. Alky is nasty on those carbs. I replaced the float valve seat and O-ring. There were a lot of other parts inside that are just plain UGLY now that alky has been run in them. At least they all work still. I just hate knowing how ugly they look (bowls, floats, etc.)

me either, they made the best power on top of any carb i used, but the power band is so narrow that your not in the power zone long enough....i never could get the low and mid to awaken up..using alchohol should wake up that lazy bottem end it has, should give u more room for error..but if your looking for a drag carb that u can dune with or trail ride with, the lectron 48 has worked great for me...it has a VERY WIDE power band. very usable power...very explosive!!!!! good luck with whatever u go with...

My experience has been that they hard to keep tuned and very low on torque and peak hp.
Alcohol: I haven't seen anyone get on the dyno and be tuned right. It's fair to say that even the best of them I've seen are depressed when they see the power they are actually making. It takes alot of work and diligent constant tuning to keep it right on a carb.

The strongest motor to supposedly come out of tvi was making 64hp and 47 ft lb std corrected with twin 39 FCR's supposedly tuned to the best of their ability. They did tune up to 66hp and 47 ft-lb. A few days later they tuned in at 68hp and 48ft lb. Very unpredictable.
Twin carbs of another brand dropped on and made 71hp and 52 ft-lb. We really didn't tune on them much and they were a little undersized. All on Gas

A larger pami motor came in making 69hp and 50 ft lb std corrected with twin 39 fcr's tuned to the best of his ability. They tuned up to 73 hp and 51 ft lb. (on gas).
