Default Washer Order on Stock Needle

Finally, a more conclusive picture. Thanks again, Mr. Oldman. On the carb picture in the website you referenced, it does look like the bigger washer should be at the bottom. And, you are correct, the price difference between the two washers is even futher evidence of same. Am I going nuts, or is the washer order on the picture you reference different than the shop manual?

Default Washer Order on Stock Needle

The order even by Dynojet is as I stated. What the parts manual states also.

On my CD manual, they show both washers below the clip.
Size in manual looks the same for both washers. Manual is definitely not correct.

Since the thin washer is .020 and the thick is .040, I would think that
if you wanted to raise the needle only a half groove , just switch the washers.
Since taper at end of needle is .0028 per mm, raising only .020 is a minor move.
I prefer to know that the needle is perpendicular. Thick washer with a ground flat guarantee's
to be above offset in bottom of needle slide.

Ok, Oldmanracing, I did exactly what you said, and re-assembled the needle per your specs. Once you look down the black plastic slide assembly, what you have been saying starts to make perfect sense. I ground down the thick washer a little so it fits flush at the bottom of the slide, which in turn, forces the needle into the middle of the hole at the bottom of the slide when you reassemble everything. Test rode it, and it seems to run fine. Can't say that I felt any difference, but I can only ride it up and down my street a few times before the neighbors start to get upset. Thanks for your patience with my questions about this.
