Check your ATV Sport Magazine, October issue, page 18:

"Polaris Industries has agreed to pay $80 million in cash for a large piece of KTM, a move that would give the manufacturer an expanded retail network in Europe and valuable insight to off-road motorcyle production. At the same time it offiers the the Austrian (KTM) company strenghened presence in the United States and accelerated entry into the worldwide ATV Market."

Pretty extreme design. Wonder if the actual bike will resemble that drawing at all? Looks to be a 450.

Checked out your pics and was curious as to how Sand Mt. compares with Dumont? Plan on making several trips over the Fall and Winter and want to hit some new spots. How about Ocotillo Wells?

They are going to take an existing KTM motor (who knows which one - wouldnt it be cool to have an LC4-640 motor!) and drop it into a Polaris frame. The only good sport frame that poo has now is the Predator, and thats a good one. The frame already supports a 500cc motor. The KTM LC4-640 motor is excellent - that would be a wise choice in my opinion.

I would bet that the motor would either be that 640 or the KTM 520... both are excellent motors. In fact, Dirt Wheels built a quad with the 520 motor in it last year, that thing was awesome!

Very interesting! I can't wait to see it when it comes out! Both of those motors are proven designs. I'm hoping for a little bigger quad than the predator. I was wondering when KTM would step up a come out with a quad. It's about time. I just hope it doesn't go the way of the Cannondale.

Now that KTM has entered the ATV world, things will heat up & if they make a sports quad like they make dirtbikes, I would be biting my nails if I were any of the current companies. Be afraid Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki, & Bombardier!!!!!!!!! 2006 will be very interesting. Be very afraid.

are you referring the the comparo between the eraser and the ds650 DW did a while back? the eraser did have the ktm 520 motor in it, along with some very wild front end suspension.
