Default Rode My 800 MAX XT today..

Just got this quad and took it out for a ride today. I found it to be better than I expected. Yes, plenty of power on tap. I was riding single and did not feel like the quad was huge. I am very impressed with the slow going characteristics as well. Very good engine braking, I think it is as good as the early Honda 4X4's with gears! Also engine braking in reverse! My Kawi 650 prarie and 650 Brute force do not have that. The power is always there to go if you want. It gets going quickly, I am very pleased with the machine overall. Very predictable manners. I will be taking my wife for a spin next week, I hope it does as well with both of us riding. I have owned numerous quads and three wheelers overe the years. This is the best one for where I am in life right now. Sporty, 4X4, two up. Perfect!

Well. just got back from the ride with my wife. Now we are not small people mind you. I am about 260 lbs, wife about 185, The machine performed awesome. Great ride. My wife was very comfortable. We rode about 50 miles in three hours on trails. I think this may be the uktimate ATV.....still had good power, very smooth ride. I was worried in off camber situations but the machine showed no signs of tipping. I was just not used to getting so sidehill. I am a very satisfied buyer!

Sweet! Congrats on your purchase. I know if I had the moola I would upgrade to the 800 XT Max. The 400 XT is a great machine but with both of us on it we do push the rear suspension to the limits. I can hear the rear tires rub on the whoops. I drowned it 3 times on labor day weekend and each time I only had to give full throttle and hit the start button and it fired up right away. The radiator was plugged with mud and it never overheated unlike my cousin's Artic Cat 400. Love it!!! And Honda doesn't even compare! My previous Honda would overheat and it took alot more work to start the thing if any water got in the muffler.

Happy riding!

Care to elaborate on that? I know of several over the 500 mark and even a few over 1000 already.
