Default Suspention????

I need to adjust my ride heigth on my DS. I read the manuel too. It looks like I need a special tool to tighten up the nuts on the top of the rear shock? Is this correct? Thanks...

Default Suspention????

I just jack it up..letting the suspension free hang...and turn the springs by hand..in which turns the nut..

Use some oil on them, something like WD-40, that makes em easier to turn too.

There is a special tool available, it is called a spanner wrench. In any case I have two and neither one works very well so you may as well use the hammer method - you probably already have the hammer and screwdriver. Once you bust it loose you turn the spring as described and you are good. Don't waste your time or the skin off of you knuckles trying to use the lame wrenches made for that, they hardly work.

If you want to buy one, Amazon has 262 different models:

Instead of a screwdriver, I used a piece of brass so I wouldn't ding up the retaining nuts.

My dealer used exactly that. Heavy hammer and very larger prybar/screwdriver.

Default Suspention????

Thanks everyone for your help. It looks like I will go a head and do it with a hammer and a brass (old) punch that I have. When I did all the messuring for the suspention, the quad goes down 7" with me on it with all me gear. Does that mean I need to adjust it so it will go down 4 1/2" to 5" for it to be correct? Thanks again for everyone's info!
