Bought a 800 Outlander Max yesterday.
I bought a green 800 Max for $8976 + tax, no prep fees.
It's expected to be delivered to my dealer on Wednesday.
I have a few questions:
1. Does anyone have a link to a online version of the owners manual? I would be nice to study up before jumping on.
2. What bulbs do they use in the brake light. 1157? 3157 wedge? and how many 1-2?
3. Has anyone replaced the stock 35 watt bulbs with 55/65 watt bulbs like Sylvania silver stars? Any problems I should be aware of?
4. Why would they only use 35 watt bulbs when this thing can do almost 80mph? Are they worried about higher wattage bulbs quickly draining the battery when the engine is off?
5.How many extra watts can the electrical system handle? I have 2-35 watt HID's that I would like to run in conjunction with the stock bulbs.
6. How will I know if my 800 has the upgraded firmer front shocks? Any markings?
Thanks...

Sorry I can't answer your questions, but congrats and welcome.
Seems like I read the shock upgrade was a recall on the previous ones released with the old ones, not positive though. but if that's true yours should be coming with the new improved shocks I would imagine.

Before you start worrying about bulbs & upgrades, you better make sure the darn thing runs first!
We just bought a 2006 Outlander 800 the first of October. Had to wait almost 2 months to get it in. Rode it for 10 miles & the thing started leaking oil all over & smoking. Took it back to see what the problem was. 1 week later they thought they fixed it (they couldn't figure out why there was oil in the air intake manifold. Took it up deer hunting & about 3 miles up the road it started smoking & lost oil into the air intake again. Took it back to dealer and 2 or 3 weeks later they said that they solved the problem finally! Took it out to ride and a few miles down the road....same thing! Sooooo, back it went to the dealer. They talked about other options like replacing the engine and were just as frustrated as us. We bought a "new" machine because it would be "reliable"; the same reason you buy a new car. We asked to either have the machine replaced or our money back. This was over 2 weeks ago & still no one from the dealer can give us an answer.
We bought another new 2005 Traxter 650 at the same time as the Outlander from this dealer. For what we spent (just under $20,000 for both) we haven't been able to do much (riding double on one ATV is not much fun!) What a bummer!
Just make sure that the dealer explains the problem with the Outlander 800 & what they will do for you if yours has this problem "before" you take it home.

You might try this link, www.robsperformance.com.
They have a (parts breakdown) list that gives all the info on your model.
Go to his main page and on the left you will see listed ( OEM PARTS FICHE)
Just plug in your make, model and year.
Hope this helps.
