New Clutch is Awsome!!!

When I had the HPR730 kit installed, my +60% springs on the stock clutch were insufficient. After a fair amount of research I bought the 9 disc set that is the HPR in house brand. It is awsome! Not only does it hook up superbly, but the feel is so solid and high quality. It cost a little more than the Barnett but I am ecstatic with it. I was told upfont that it would be hard to get into neutral with the motor running and it is but not impossible.
Just passing on a good product and a high quality way to solve that clutch slipping problem.
Thanks Randall!

Just plates and fibers. It was $200. As far as I know it is HPR specific. It is the one they use at the races. Randall said it would handle more horsepower than the Barnett. I couldn't believe how smoothly it delivers the power.

why spend $200 when you could have gotten the clutch for $69 as posted here: http://forums.atvconnection.com/mess...did/473889.cfm

That is a good question Scooby. Since I choose to pay labor to install a clutch, I consider it cheap insurance to buy something I know will work. HPR has a track record now with me that when they say this is what I want, I know I will be really happy. I may have been happy with the $69 setup, meaning I just threw away $130. On the other hand, it might not have been what I needed and I would have bought that and a $200 clutch with twice the labor. If the track record is there, in the long run a bit of a premium is still a good value especially for someone like me who likes to ride but would prefer not to spend my time working on my quad or worrying about whether it will work. Also I ask lots and lots of questions, good education costs money. If I bought a $69 clutch I would feel guilty about e-mailing Randall to ask him clutch questions. That $130 bought me honest access to reliable information from guys who win races on the parts they are selling.
Mudnuri, I reused my 60% springs. They were only 2 weeks old. HPR said Barnett is a good clutch but wasn't heavy enough for the big strokers on NOS. Since I intend to install a stroker crank in mine upcoming, I decided to go with the one i did. It would work great for a stock motor. I didn't know these higher end clutch's changed the feel of power delivery so much. It is more positive and more tractable. MHO.
I don't mean to do an infomercial, I was just so excited about the results, I had to tell somebody!

I'm not a pro, but doesn't someone find it weird that this is a great setup, but yet, it's hard to get it into neutral while the motor is running? Just a question.

I have the same problem getting into neutral unless I kill the motor. Other than that the clutch works fine and I like the stock like clutch pull compared to the 60% springs I was running.
What is different between the HPR's custom setup and the standard Barnett 9-disk?
