Bald tires, missing exhaust, missing headlight, rusted headers, what other signs do you need to see someone didn't take very good care of their machine. You would think a dealer would be smart enough to clean it up and make it presentable first. Car dealers always do that type of crap and it works.

Speaking of rusted header; Mine is starting to rust and I've only rode it like ten times! How can I take better care of it? I wash it after every ride and I've never rode in the mud / water either. It's only been in the sand

You are probably getting the rust because of the washing, so if you want to wash get it ceramic coated - it looks better, wears better, and cools the machine off better. It is a win-win situation. Neither of my DSs have rust on the headers but I don't wash them a whole lot either.
