what you guys running in your outlander 800? local shop that sells bomb and honda said they recommended regular honda oil. i know honda has good oil but im thinking maybe synthetic is the way to go? thanks

 

bomb recomends their oil but its $11 per bottle so i would recomend a synthetic i think valvoline has a synthetic atv oil not for sure tho and i've heard its pretty cheap like 3 or $4

Your owners Manuel should give you a list of grades that the oil has to meet. I find it kinda odd for a bomb dealership to recamend honda oil over bomb oil since there developed to meet different standards and the 800 is a bigger motor than any thing honda builds. I've worked on two stroke sleds for a long time and seen to many engine go due to crappy injection oil, some oils turn to more of a glue than oil under extreme heat conditions. I do like to recamend the synthetic oil from bombardier, but if you must use a different oil due your research and pay attention to your machine while running it. I don't mean to scare you but, just hate to see people experince problems that could have been provented.

I'm not sure much on the Outty, but in my DS I run Champion 20W50 Synthetic. It's a great oil, especially if you run a lot or at higher temps or stresses.

 

I have been using pep boys four stroke atv oil. Its good stuff. I thinks its made by valvoline.

 

Go to the Amsoil site and check out their oil. They make excelent synthetic oil. Their products meet and beat all OEM specs.
