Bent axle?
#1
I bent my axle a little bit during practice. I noticed it felt a little wobbly. I looked down and saw my wheel moving around. Back at the pits, I jacked it up and put it in gear to see if it was my wheel or my axle. The axle won. It seems to be bent only towards the hub where the axle gets skinny.
I have to use the rear wheels to actually "hook" a tree and pull the front around and between trees. This happens pretty fast so it's no wonder it's bent.
I imagine after a while the bearings will be affected, but will it cause damage to my carrier? Or any other parts?
I have a race every weekend for the next 2 months. I just don't know if I should continue and buy after Feb is over or stop and order a new axle?

Axles can be straighted, you just got to ask around in your area.
Here in Wisconsin I use this shop.

He repaired mine for $50.00

I would order a new one they are very easy to replace the only bad part is that you need to take your old axle and your new axle to a machine shop to have the sprocket hub pressed off your old one and pressed on your new one.

I say get it straitened then when it bends again (and it will) then order a new one. I bent mine in the same place as you did and it was fine then after I clipped another tree it bent again. So thats when i got a new one.
