hardly any old posts on this, I tried every spelling of the word I could think of!

An e-clip came off the pin that holds the slide together on my carb, never did find it and assumed it must have been inducted. well now that I've torn down the motor, tis true. the e-clip put some nicks around the edge of my piston, and was drug up and down the cylinder wall in several places, making some fine scratches that are border-line almost no biggie but just bad enough to warrant re-plating of the nikasil.
I found all this out the same time I find out I had broken valve springs, so I'm getting hit hard.

there are many places that do it, prices ranging from $150 to $300. I want it reliable, do any of you guys have a recommendation?

and before you say it, no big bore is no way in my budget.

I think I'll send him my jug and head and have him bring it all back to tip-top shape, and he can go ahead and fit the ring gap on my new piston he's got on the way while its there.

It might be cheaper to get a used stock bore cylinder. Theres a lot of them floating around with the popularity of the HPR big bore.

Plating

They have a place in California also.

They are from europe and have been doing this plating long before the DS came out.

I consider them the best.

hey good idea guys, I will start looking for one, and give 2big2fast a yell, look in the what's in your garage page, and 222 if you guys have any laying around that are in perfect condition that would be great. and if any of you hear of anybody needing to unload one send them my way, thanks a million!
if I can get one cheaper than replating, I'd would rather go that route.
